This place is soooo good! Definitely a hidden gem. I really enjoyed everything that we had. We ordered the tres leches French toast, chilaquiles with steak, and the seafood Benedict (it was a special) and I would rate it all 10/10. The employees were all so kind and attentive. I came with my kiddos and they were also treated with kindness and were given all the accommodations they needed without me even having to ask. I will definitely be back!

I would've given this place five stars all around, but the decor just doesn't cut it for me. The green is terrible. But this place is clean. The service is impeccable. The omelette we split was incredibly good (and I am a huge omelette snob). The potatoes were good. The sourdough bread was perfect and buttered well. The coffee was nice and strong and I really liked the big coffee mugs. And our server, Jose, was the best part of the entire experience. It's a small place, but there are quite a few seats. It was pretty busy and I can see why.

A great breakfast spot with excellent food and service. Try the house-made hot sauce which is wonderful! We had the Tres Leches French Toast and the Meat Lover's Omelet. (Definitely will be going back to try other dishes!)

12/29/24 - Javi’s Breakfast Cafe My close extended family came here with my Aunt to welcome her to Portland. We all loved it! The pancakes come with very large serving sizes, but are amazing all the same. They also have a soup of the day, today was the Corn Chowder. A great little diner if are looking for a quick meal or a fun family outing!

Stop searching and go to Javi's . If there is a line you wait in that line! Happily! It's worth it! I rarely eat at the same place twice while traveling BUT this place is amazing! Everything we tried was delicious. 7 for a side of bacon. Done. It was 4-5 strips of thick cut perfectly cooked bacon. Waffles delicious! Chicken fried steak eggs Benedict was amazing!! Ask for the salsa to put on top! Ok...stay with me... get the clam chowder. Who cares if it's breakfast time... just do it. This is the best calm chowder me and my husband have ever tried! Absolutely amazing! Y'all are doing it right! I'm from Texas and I honestly felt right at home it had that warm welcoming feel with just amazing thought out dishes. Javi's you have been bookmarked and I look forward to visiting again someday!

Javis is a flavorful new addition to the Portland breakfast club. Javis lived up to the hype - the food is amazing. It came super quick too! The service was very friendly and helpful. Food wise we had 6 people and everyone ordered different items. All were eaten quickly and were loved. Personally I had an omelette and it was bursting with flavor and contents. They don’t skimp. Pancakes are delicious. Tons of butter too. And they have hot sauces available on request. Javis stands above most the of the breakfast places in town. In fact, I can’t think of a better place to

A pleasant homestyle cafe with an extensive breakfast menu, attentive servers and affordable prices. The coffee was hot with fresh cream and the service was top notch. The place was very busy but they had more than enough staff for the small dining area. There was outdoor seating. We had the eggs benedict and an omelette. We also shared the caramel pancakes and they were excellent. Overall I was impressed with their attention to detail and the quality of the food. I might not get the microgreens on my Benedict next time, but it was an interesting addition that added some flair. I was very surprised that the paprika they used had a spicy kick, I've never had spicy paprika before. I would probably ask for my hash browns to be well-done next time we go.

In the pantheon of small neighborhood diners, there is always a hierarchy—places where your feet stick to the floor and every bite you take is like the spin of a roulette chamber. But when you stumble into the upper echelons of easy comfort food and great service, it is as if you’re returning to your youth—like you’ve found a home. In my eternal search for the ultimate bargains, I range near and far, always keeping my eyes peeled for those diners that will soothe my tremulous heart. Javi’s was the X that marks the treasure, the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. The service was excellent—the kind of waitress you look forward to seeing, the kind who seems genuinely happy that you are there. I felt immediately at ease, like coming home where you can finally breathe a sigh of relief. I ordered that ultimate test item, that thing which is so simple—like the bear dance (one step forward, two steps to the side, then one step forward)—that it evades many. For in simplicity, genius can flourish, or it can drag you down. That item, my friend, is the humble BLT: a simple slate on which to write a poem or a dirge. This particular BLT was perfect. You could deliver it to the gods and have luck for the rest of your life. Perfect toast, real tomatoes with real flavor, and, of course, a bacon that lives in your dreams. The fries were absolutely down-to-earth and real: excellent crunch, soft interior, perfectly seasoned. My stomach did a little dance of joy. So here we are—this little monument to the long tradition of roadside diners, this neighborhood treasure where people come again and again, and the staff gets to know what they want. It has a place in the tapestry of the city. It grows into the community like moss grows into the rocks. It becomes a landmark, a place where people meet for conversation and comfort. It becomes a place that fits you like the good old jacket that belonged to your father, the one you wear when you need comfort from the world. I’ll go back.
